Practicas are a long-standing Argentine tango tradition, open to all levels of students, from those with many years experience to brand new beginners. The intention is to improve your dance in an informal setting, trying out new moves, and getting tips from more experienced dancers. At a guided practice, the host is available to assist individuals one on one, with their tango inquiries. If you are new to tango, you will get pointers on how to start off, while experienced dancers are encouraged to explore new challenges together.
Your Practica host: Margaret Spore is the founder of Tangonova, and has been teaching tango in Halifax since 2003. She is adept in both lead and follow roles, with a profound understanding of tango connection, communication and musicality. She is especially noted for providing students with a foundational vocabulary that will support their progress, whether they dance in Halifax or visit other tango communities in Canada and around the world.
Venue: This week’s practica is at Tangonova Home studio: lovely wood floor, picture window, skylight, good sound. Limited studio capacity (10-12)/ sufficient for current Practica attendance. Parking in driveway or in turn-around by the lake.
If you would like to RSVP that is helpful but not necessary.
Timing: Drop-in, this is not a class. If you are seeking to take a class, please inquire.
