Theme: Points of Connection: Cultivate Your Tango Intuition (all-levels)
How to enhance, enjoy and skillfully use a sense of connection while dancing tango. Explore not only the embrace but other points of contact: the floor, the axis, the music, other dancers. Learn to move first from a place of connection and then track whether or not it’s working with your vocabulary.
Argentine social tango is a constant loop of checking in and assessing the situation, making adjustments, going forward, getting lost, finding one another again, and so forth. As dancers we are often too occupied with executing steps or following “correctly” to remember we are not in this alone!
Here’s an opportunity for even highly experienced dancers to forget about fancy step work for a moment and see what arises from the simplicity of a heart-felt surrender to tango’s essential elements. Come feel it in your bones! Transmit your felt-sense of connection to newer dancers.
March Special = Workshop and Practica: $15 per person, $25 couple
Practica only = $10
Mixed-level workshops & practicas allow less experienced dancers to witness and/or experience first-hand core concepts of Argentine tango, while giving seasoned dancers an opportunity to refresh and deepen their understanding of the same. We all need practice with the basics!
Cost: Workshop & Practica = $20 (U-students $18) Couple = $$35
Practica only = $10 (U-students $8)
Class Time (approx) = 3-4:00 pm.
Practica Time = 4-5:00 with mid-practice review of theme.
