Montreal tango dancers Andrea and Wolf are visiting Nova Scotia on vacation with their family! The will spend a week on Tancook Island and then 3 days in Halifax. Andrea offered to DJ the Saturday Tangonova milonga and teach a few classes while they were visiting. I always try to accept offers from teachers who are passing thru town….it provides more opportunity for Halifax dancers to get exposure to a variety of tango styles. This will be an easy relaxed program .  I am not hosting them, – they come on their own volition. I am on vacation the week before they arrive. Scroll down for schedule/fees.
AW Halifax2019
BIO: Andrea and Wolf both grew up immersed in dance, and each has been dancing tango for about 20 years. They met – through tango – in 2003, immediately began teaching together and opened their own school five years later. They are regularly invited to perform at events in and around the city and have created, produced and directed a series of shows in recent years titled Historias de Tango. Over the past decade they have become known for the passion they convey when they dance, the quality of their teaching and the warm, inclusive atmosphere at their milongas. Wolf is especially known for his strong lead and deep understanding of posture and movement and Andrea for her creative, intuitive DJing as well as for her blog, lifeisatango.blogspot.com.

 Program Details:

On Saturday evening, Aug 24, meet Andrea (our DJ) & Wolf at Tangonova’s  Milonga Del Puerto (if rain/indoor Milonga 1313). They will offer a demo!
On Sunday August 25, take  classes with Andrea & Wolf at 1313 Hollis St:

12 Noon = Registration
12:15 -1:45 pm: Dressing-up Your Ocho Cortado (all-levels)
Let us show you why this simple little move is our absolute favourite: easy to learn yet versatile, leaving room to play endlessly with style, embellishments and musicality.

2-3:30 pm:  Creating a Cool Combination (int/adv)
We will construct and deconstruct a fun turn sequence with sacadas, a barrida and boleo or two: all moves that encourage strong presence and technique on the part of both leader and follower.

Class cost = $25 per person /students $20
Both Classes =  $40 /students $35
Payment: Cash or  e-transfer preferred.

REGISTRATION GUIDELINES Pre-registration recommended!
Please consider registering with a partner. As an organizer, I do not pair people up. That’s up to each individual!
If you’ve been in this community for awhile, you might  know by now how to contact the people with whom you like dancing!
Single registrants will be wait listed  until a registrant of the opposing role  signs up.
We will work with role imbalance of no more than 2. In my experience well-balanced classes with rotation create the best learning environment.

Levels:  If you have questions regarding your level, please call me. Class II (int/adv) looks to be more on the advanced side of  intermediate.   Class I (All-levels) will be more than basic, and is not intended for new beginners, but those with a range of experience.
